1. What is the Newton’s Law of Cooling?

It is a "satisfactory" approximation to the surface temperature of an object changes at a rate proportional to its relative temperature. That is, the difference between its temperature and the temperature of the surrounding enviroment.

2. What variables in your problem correspond with the variables in the Newton’s Law of Cooling?

The variables of time, and temperature of the body and the surrounding.

3. According to this Law, at what time approximately the death happened?

-With a room temperature at 70°F

1) Healthy/98.7°F - Time Of Death: 8:54:4 P.M.

2) Regular/99.5°F - Time Of Death: 8:50:4 P.M.

3)Sick/101°F - Time Of Death: 8:43:4 P.M.

-With a room temperature at75°F,

4. How does the room temperature affect the time of death?

Acording to the law of cooling, the room temperature affects the body because ther is a difference between the temperatures of the body and the room and this makes that the both temperatures make an equilibrium by staying in touch one with another.

5. How does an illness (e.g. fever) affect the time of death?

An illness shall change the temperature of the body because all the reactions that the illnes produces.

6. How exact is the approximation of the Newton’s Law of Cooling for predicting the time of death?

It is satisfactory approximate

4. What methods are commonly used to find the time of death?
Rule of Thumb, Rate Method and Concurrence Method, Algor Mortis, Henssge Method, Rigor Mortis

5. What factors are considered in Algor Mortis?
The temperate of climate since in tropical regions there may be a minimal fall in body temperature post mortem and in some extreme climates, the body temperature may even rise after death.

6. How does the environment affect the time of death?
The temperature affects directly the corpse. Newton's law of cooling states that the rate of cooling of a body is determined by the difference between the temperature of the body and that of its environment.

7. What can you tell about the different methods of temperature reading of the body? Do they make a difference in the results?
They are all different, because all of them are focused in specific parts, and consider other things.

Questions:

1. What is forensic science?
Is a science that applies other sciences to get answers of interest to the legal system.

2. What kind of evidence can be collected in a murder case?
Biological evidence, trace evidence, impression evidence (such as fingerprints, footwear impressions, and tire tracks), controlled substances, firearms, and other evidence in criminal investigations.

3. Why is important to determine the time of death?
Because with all the evidence, the only that is needed to prove is at what hour did the murder happened. Place the guilty in the crime scene at the right time.

4. Goal:
We think that the main objective of this project, is to use our creativity and knowledge to understand the applied mathematics in a very effective use, the "forensic science". That way, we need to work like a team, and with different roles, also we're going to show our cinematographic skills and editing skills too. We are excited waiting for start filming ;)! We think its going to be a very funny project and we already have many good ideas.

Hace poco descubrí a este guitarrista... no es muy conocido pero vaya que su técnica es de las mejores que he visto (y conozco muchos guitarristas).

Lo que se me hace increíble es que haya tantos "artistas" de plástico en la radio o TV que de artistas no tienen nada, gente como Fergie ganando dinero por ahí mientras verdaderos músicos como Andy Mckee no son nada conocidos, algo esta realmente mal con el mundo.
Y si alguien no puede oír esta música y disfrutarla algo esta mal con ustedes así que vayan al medico...

Por que "княопоs"?

Ya van varias personas que me preguntan que si por que uso el nickname de khronos y a otras ni les importa.. pero aun así daré una pequeña explicación de quien es y que representa.

Chronos ( Χρόνος Khrónos en griego antiguo) era para los griegos la personificación del tiempo. También se le llamaba Eón o Aión que significa "tiempo eterno"... era el dios de las edades y su compañera era Ananké.. la "inevitabilidad".

A menudo se le confunde con Cronos (sin "h") que este era el rey de los titanes, pero Khronos es una personificación separada y diferente del tiempo.

Yo tengo una filosofía de vida.. creo que no vivimos los suficiente, unos menos que otros y hay que aprender a vivir cada sentimiento posible, tristeza, nostalgia, sufrimiento, alegría, emoción, miedo.. por que no todo es felicidad y es imposible que lo sea. El tiempo es lo mas importante... aprender a aprovechar el tiempo con los seres queridos o a veces solo, aprovechar tu tiempo aquí por que no sabes cuanto tiempo estarás en este lugar.

"No te tomes todo el tiempo del mundo, por que todo el tiempo del mundo no te pertenece."

Así qué eh ahí la razón de mi nickname княопоs no es simplemente por que sí.. tiene todo una ideología mía que lo respalda.

Lo Que Importa(?)

∫Esta vez, como asignación de la materia hablaremos sobre mi tocallo.. Martin Luther King.
Este señor fue el iniciador de la digamos.. rebelión anti-leyes racistas en contra de los Afro americanos (negros). Y pues si, la gente ya estaba tan acostumbrada al trato racista de los estadounidenses que hasta en las leyes lo ponían. Y el curso se inicia con una frase que dijo este personaje:

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter".
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Nuestras vidas empiezan su fin el día que nos volvemos silencios acerca de las cosas que importan."

No pudo haber estado mas en lo correcto. Desafortunadamente, muchas veces necesitamos que alguien nos diga este tipo de cosas para agarrar la onda de lo que esta pasando con nosotros, cuales son nuestras prioridades y que es por lo que deberíamos luchar. Cuando lo importante nos deja de preocupar y vivimos, como lo dice la frase, en silencio sin decir "HEY AQUÍ ESTOY!! y no me voy a dar por vencido tan fácil", es importante empezar con esta frase no solamente este curso, ni el semestre, ni el año, es importante empezar así con todo lo que hagamos ya que si dejamos de tomarle importancia a las cosas, nuestra vida sería mas que un montón de basura sin sentido.

∫Resulta que.. en clase la maestra Linda Licón nos dijo que investigáramos acerca de por que... se usa este símbolo para la integral (este que esta a la izquierda). Pues hice una investigación por ahí y encontré esto:

"Se trata de una "s" alargada, inicial de la palabra latina summa, lo cual hace referencia al hecho de que la integral, en principio, es la suma de las áreas de un conjunto de rectángulos cuyas alturas vienen dadas por los valores de una función y cuyas bases tienen longitudes infinitesimales. Se debe a Leibniz, coinventor independiente del cálculo."

Así que ahora ya saben el por que...

∫Pues ahora me dispongo a hablar acerca de Cálculo Integral.. por que pues.. para eso es este BLOG.. así que les diré mi impresión hasta ahora del curso. En estas 2 semanas (6 clases) que hemos tenido, me he dado cuenta de que esta materia no es como las demás matemáticas que hemos llevado, Cálculo Integral tiene mas aplicación que mucho de lo que he visto anteriormente, por lo general a mi no me gustan las matemáticas se me hace que son muchos ejercicios sin sentido, pero ahora es mas iferente, mas aplicado... mas enfocado a la solución de un problema que es lo que me ha gustado hasta ahora de este curso...
Pues así es.. es lo que he visto hasta ahora espero que se ponga todavía mejor!...
